Why choose us?
We are trained travel health providers. You will typically meet with both a registered nurse/epidemiologist and physician, both of whom have extensive travel health experience and are members of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). Our travel medicine physician, Dr. Moody, has a Certificate of Travel Health™ through ISTM, which “recognizes individual excellence in knowledge in the field of travel medicine, associated with pre-travel care and consultation." Click here to learn more about the travel health providers.
We are available. Though it is preferred to see you long before you depart for your trip, we often can accommodate short notice and last minute travelers. Do you live in surrounding metros, such as Knoxville, Nashville, Atlanta, Huntsville, and Birmingham? We are happy to see you, too. If preferred, we can also provide an online virtual visit to Tennessee and Georgia residents.
We don't rush you. This is a time for you to have your travel-related health questions explored and answered, as well as for us to review important trip information with you. We want to ensure you are prepared for safe and healthy travel. Sometimes this results in a longer visit.
We are comprehensive. In the travel consultation, we review multiple topics based on a traveler's itinerary, some of which the traveler may initially be unaware. In addition to the wide variety of travel-related vaccinations available, we can also send prescriptions for important medications, such as for malaria or traveler's diarrhea, directly to your pharmacy. Medically complex travelers are welcome as we will take the time to review travel plans in light of medical conditions to help formulate a shared plan.
Our care does not end at the end of your appointment. We are available by phone or e-mail should you have further questions or concerns after your visit, including during your travels and once you return home.
